February 11th, 2014 is The Day We Fight Back. No, not against Skynet, although that's a good idea too. The Day We Fight Back is an online protest against mass surveillance being pitched by a number of organizations, including the EFF. As this is an issue close to my heart, I'll be taking part, although the site doesn't exactly detail what taking part involves. They encourage you to "be creative" - I guess I'll have to come up with something. Of course, it's a US-centric protest with the NSA being singled out as the enemy and no mention of the other four eyes. But if you wanted to take part, being creative could entail using whatever soapbox you have to call out your own national intelligence apparatus.
